La Plissonnais lies at the crossroads of three provinces in north western France - Normandy, Brittany and Pays de Loire. Close enough to the ferry ports and airports which serve the UK so well, yet far enough south to enjoy conisderably better weather year-round than the English south coast.

Temperatures average 2 degrees higher than the English southcoast year-round, and some 6 degrees higher in summer, regularly hitting 35 degrees, with a 2009 high of 41 degrees - perfect pool weather!

La Plissonnais itself is set on the hillside above the valley of the river Airon, surrounded by woods and pastures, around 1km from the village of Les Loges Marchis.

Les Loges Marchis is in the départment of Manche, on the main D977 road between St.Hilaire du Harcouet and Fougeres. The village's amenities include a bar/tabac and shop, which has fresh bread delivered every morning (except Monday). You can most easily find us on Google Maps

The nearby market town of St. Hilaire du Harcouet (approx. 4km) has a full range of shops and banks, including two hypermarkets and many other stores, including a DIY superstore. The town has a market on Wednesdays which sells primarily local fresh produce. Further afield, Fougeres and Avranches, both within 45 mins drive, offer further excellent shopping.

Guests, though primarily from the UK, come from far afield due to the excellent transport links to and from the area, and for sights such as the spectacular Mont St. Michel (just 45 minutes away). Condor and Brittany Ferries provide a number of routes from Portsmouth, Poole and Jersey to the ports of Cherbourg (2 hours drive), Caen (1½ hours drive) and St. Malo (1 hour drive). Furthermore, there are daily flights to and from Dinard airport (near St. Malo). Ryanair flies to London Stansted and East Midlands Airport and Aurigny to Jersey, whilst Flybe provides flights to Rennes from all over the UK.
